Starting from the month of November 2023, the Javett Art Centre at the University of Pretoria (UP) will be closed to the public on Sundays except for the last Sunday of every month going forward. This decision has been made after careful consideration and is in line with our commitment to enhancing the visitor experience and optimizing our resources.
The new operating schedule for the Javett-UP is as follows:
- Sunday: Closed (except on the last Sunday of every month)
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday-Saturday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Last admission is at 4:00 PM.

While our regular schedule remains unchanged from Tuesday to Saturday, visitors can continue exploring our engaging exhibitions and enjoy a culturally enriching experience. Exhibitions available for viewing are, Great Expectations, Another Roadmap Africa Cluster, Oscar Murillo: Frequencies, Specifications for a Reverse Archaeology, One is But a Shadow of the Other, The National Treasures: The Mapungubwe Gold Collection, and The AngloGold Ashanti Barbier-Mueller Gold of Africa Collection.
